DNA tests now prove that Thomas Jefferson and his slave Sally Hemings had five children. Their story comes to the stage in this classic Castillo musical by Fred Newman and Grammy Award-winning songwriter Annie Roboff.
Reviews “Based on historical accounts of the relationship between Thomas Jefferson and Sally Hemings, one of his slaves, Sally and Tom is a diamond in the off-off-Broadway rough. Roboff’s music sometimes soars with lyrical beauty.” — Ward Moorehouse III, Christian Science Monitor, January 1999.
