In 2005, the young performers of Youth Onstage! used Thornton Wilder’s classic play Our Town as the basis for creating Our City, a vivid new play set in contemporary New York, which featured characters from all five boroughs. Now, an entirely new cast of talented YO! performers will be bringing Our City on tour to public schools and other community venues all across the city. They play a wide range of roles – from cops and teenagers to immigrant shopkeepers and school teachers. Using the city itself as their stage, this company of young performers will be opening up a dialogue about the dynamism, diversity and divisions that exist in the city they live in.
