"Hidden Images" displays the powerful paintings of Austrian artist Wolf Werdigier, created through interviews with Palestinians and Israelis exploring their generations-old conflict through personal histories and dreams. For this show done in conjunction with Castillo's Sally and Tom (The American Way), Werdigier has conducted a series of interviews with Theatre For the Whole City audiences and is creating new paintings specific to racial issues in America. Social dreaming Matrix workshops will be conducted in conjunction with the exhibition. This is the American premiere of "Hidden Images," which has previously been shown in Tel Aviv, Ramallah and Jerusalem.

Art Daily
"Paintings by Wolf Werdigier Explore Conflict"
" ...[the paintings] reveal the personal, human and emotional toll of the Middle East conflict and the dreams and hopes of ordinary residents of the region."

Social Dreaming Workshops
Hosted by Dr. E. Martin Walker, Ph.D. Psychoanalyst and adjunct faculty of the William Alanson White Institute for Psychiatry, Psychoanalysis and Psychology at the following times:

Friday, October 28, 7:00 - 9:30 p.m.
Saturday, October 29, 10:30 - 1:00 p.m.
(Participants can come to either or both workshops.)

"In a social dreaming matrix, people share their dreams and others share their associations to the dream. You will note that I said associations, not interpretations. The idea is not arrive at some sort of group consensus about the interpretation of a specific dream but to uncover common themes in the dreams of all the participants and what these common themes might mean to everyone." — W. G. Lawrence, founder of social dreaming

Workshops are $10 ($5 for people with tickets to the Castillo Theatre’s production of Sally and Tom (The American Way). To register, call the Castillo Theatre box office: 212-941-1234.
