Our City, Too
is directed and written by Jared Glenn. The play is based on a story by Dan Friedman and Brian Mullin with characters created by Michael Alcide, Darnelle Cadet, Franceli Chapman, Mohamed Dione III, Jennifer Fomore, Gillian Rougier, Sita Sarkar and Serge Velez.

In 2005, the performers of Youth Onstage! drew on Thornton Wilder’s classic play Our Town to create Our City, a vivid original play set in contemporary New York, featuring characters from all five boroughs.

Now, fourteen years later, a cast of Youth Onstage! performers bring us Our City, Too, a new version of this story.  The play explores young people’s experiences and perceptions of New York City in 2019. Playing a wide variety of roles - from single mothers and teenagers to immigrant shopkeepers and drug dealers-- this company of young performers will be opening up a dialogue about the dynamism, diversity and divisions that exist in the city they live in.

All performers are recent graduates of All Stars Project’s Youth Onstage! program, which introduces young people, ages 14 to 21, to performance, improv and the world of theatre by providing free training in the performing arts under the direction of volunteer theatre professionals. The cast will be making their professional debut on November 15th at 7:30 pm.
