Black Spectrum Theatre - NYC was founded in 1970. The Black Spectrum Theatre
Company produces and presents theatre, films and videos examining
issues of concern to African-American communities, particularly
African-American youth. They have presented over 1,000 performances
of more than 60 socially relevant theatrical productions. It has
acquired critical acclaim in dozens of major newspapers and media
outlets, including The New York Times, Newsday,
ABC TV news, and CBS TV news.
