Ben Caldwell is a playwright
and graphic artist. During 1965 and 1966, Caldwell wrote four plays,
including the popular and highly acclaimed, Prayer Meeting:
or, the First Militant Minister. Since then he has written
over fifty plays, twenty of which are one-act, satirical dramas
about African-Americans living in a racist society. He was awarded
the Guggenheim Fellowship for playwriting in 1970.
